In a fashion show directed by Robbie Carmona, the country's top mannequins donned pieces from the season's fashion stories Kaleidoscope Summer, Tutti Frutti, One Love, Spring Fantasy, Ode to Leaves, Pool Party, Bouquet of Memories and Black Rose.
"I'm proud to speak for a brand that offers high quality products and allows Filipinas to be fashionable while being practical," said Ruffa Gutierrez. The popular TV host shared that fashionistas can easily mix-and-match practical pieces from Avon with designer finds. For the launch, Gutierrez wore eye-catching and colorful pieces from the One Love collection: long necklaces and a matching bracelet with fuschia and peridot-colored stones. Gutierrez, who also attended the Hermes launch that evening still wearing the jewelry set, was asked if they were from a high-end brand.
Bianca Gonzalez, new endorser for Avon Mix Jewelry and Accessories said that she was honored to endorse the Mix line, which is "the more casual, playful line of Avon." We loved: the cute and funky pieces from the Pool Party collection with brilliant clear-cut stones.
The Summer 2010 collection will be available beginning March 2010. Ask your Avon Lady, or call 864-2900. You can also log on to www.avon.com.ph for more information
Against the backdrop of a breathtaking sunset and nature’s most exquisite showcase of sun, mountain and sea, Avon Philippines unveiled the exciting Avon Fashions Summer 2009 Collections of intimate apparel, jewelry and accessories. With the event theme, ‘Be Swept Away’, top fashion media partners were indeed swept away to an island destination for exclusive front row seats to the grand launch held at the very exclusive and still undiscovered Bellarocca Island Spa and Resort, with which Avon made an alliance for the event. Bellarocca provided the perfect setting for the media getaway while the launch event, with all the lifestyle editors of the major media outlets participating, provided the opportunity for Bellarocca to be talked about as the newest IT destination in the country.
Guests were kept in delightful suspense as they received little note cards at different times of the day which gave hints to the launch agenda. First was a sumptuous ‘Burst of Sunshine’ lunch that welcomed them upon their arrival in Bellarocca. In the afternoon, guests enjoyed their getaway to the full as they availed of spa treatments and answered the lure of the ocean by engaging in water activities like snorkeling. The getaway evening kicked off with cocktails at the resort’s main restaurant poolside where everyone enjoyed the most spectacular view of the sunset as they were entertained by the Moriones, a local group of cultural performers for which Marinduque is famous. Sunset cocktails were then followed by a Sultry Savannah-themed dinner where guests appreciated the first installment of the launch - Avon Fashions’ Summer 2009 collection for Jewelry and Accessories.
“As a fashion brand, Avon considers global forecasts and trends and adapts them to the needs of the contemporary Filipina whose sense of style remains uncompromised despite tight budgets. Our Summer 2009 Collection is yet another testament of Avon’s commitment to providing women with fashionable products at prices that they can afford,” said Bob Briddon, Avon Philippines President and General Manager, in his opening remarks during the dinner presentation.
Avon Southeast Asia Cluster Category Head for Jewelry and Accessories, Nina Santiago, also shared,”As we translate global trends into every Avon Fashions product, we make sure that every piece is relevant and responsive to the needs of the Filipino women.”
After dinner, guests were led to yet another poolside for the final portion of the launch, a fashion show featuring the Intimate Apparel Summer Collections. The fashion show, featuring the country’s top models, was bannered by six fashion stories: French Riviera, Burst of Sunshine, Sultry Savannah, Coast, Spring Paradise and Green with Envy.
Avon Southeast Asia Cluster Category Head for Intimate Apparel, Raquel Ruiz, shared,”We take pride in being the country’s no. 1 fashion brand in intimate apparel. Avon Fashions has been here for 16 years and we remain true to our commitment to provide undergarments that deliver superior Asian fit, high quality and fashionable styles at affordable prices.”
The evening was capped with a party by the sea as guests continued to take great pleasure from their getaway. Just when they thought that the series of surprises had ended, media guests received another treat from Avon Fashions when they returned to their rooms – a bagful of Avon Fashions products so they too can bring the heat up this summer with the brand’s stylish fashion pieces.
The event was remembered by the media guests as a day when they were all swept away by the sun, the sea and, most of all, by Avon Fashions’ summer collection. The swept away experience gained impressive publicity pickups from the country’s top newspapers and TV network.

My grandmother was an Avon Lady for many years. Because of the brand, she helped my Lolo put my mother and her siblings through college during the 70's.
She got interested in makeup because of Avon, and she actually made a career out of it. My earliest memories were of her bringing me and my cousins to the Cultural Center of the Philippines, where she did the makeup of theater and concert artists in her heyday. We got to watch plays, of course! She has pictures with Lea Salonga and Pops Fernandez.
She was a kind and cool Lola to have. She bought us clothes, made us up. I think it was from her that my mother and I got our love for all things related to fashion and beauty. My mother is actually an Avon Lady too, although she doesn't sell. She just likes the 20% discount, lol.
That being said, I grew up with Avon. The first makeup I ever got to play with was from Avon. My pre-teen bras were from Avon. It's a brand that my family's life is closely intertwined with, so I was glad when I got to attend one of their yearly launches.
Avon launched three categories: lingerie, jewelry, and accessories. The newest collections are inspired by themes: Kaleidoscope Summer (bright and bold), Tutti Frutti (flirty colors), One Love (hippie movement), Spring Fantasy (dainty and subdued), Ode To Leaves (the shades of a lush garden),Pool Party (blue and cool), Bouquet of Memories (nostalgic and timeless), Black Rose (the sophistication of the color black), and Men's Club (for the boys).
Guests were asked to shop in three rooms: the jewelry room featuring Avon's latest trinkets, accessories room holding the bags, belts, wallets, and shoes, and the lingerie room containing the brand's summer-worthy wear
Ruffa Gutierrez was the shining host of the night! Bianca Gonzales joined her as Avon's newest endorser
I have only been starstruck once before. Seeing Ruffa is the second time! She is absolutely gorgeous! Not a huge fan of her too-perfect eyebrows though
Kaleidoscope Summer. The fashion show began with bright candy bursts of color
Picture-heavy cut. See the complete coverage of the show!
Shapemakers Plus. I love the Avon used curvy models. I'm jaded with stick-thin, bony models that I've been seeing on the runway lately. The clothes look good on them, certainly, but it's not like we all have goddess bodies! It's nice seeing fat models once in a while because you know what? Big is also beautiful.
Men's Club. Man chunk! The audience oohed when the male models appeared
One Love. This model is the prettiest of them all. She reminds me of the ageless Tweetie de Leon
Bouquet of Memories. Enticing bridal-inspired underwear
Black Rose. Dark and dangerous! This has got to be my favorite collection
