Against the backdrop of a breathtaking sunset and nature’s most exquisite showcase of sun, mountain and sea, Avon Philippines unveiled the exciting Avon Fashions Summer 2009 Collections of intimate apparel, jewelry and accessories. With the event theme, ‘Be Swept Away’, top fashion media partners were indeed swept away to an island destination for exclusive front row seats to the grand launch held at the very exclusive and still undiscovered Bellarocca Island Spa and Resort, with which Avon made an alliance for the event. Bellarocca provided the perfect setting for the media getaway while the launch event, with all the lifestyle editors of the major media outlets participating, provided the opportunity for Bellarocca to be talked about as the newest IT destination in the country.
Guests were kept in delightful suspense as they received little note cards at different times of the day which gave hints to the launch agenda. First was a sumptuous ‘Burst of Sunshine’ lunch that welcomed them upon their arrival in Bellarocca. In the afternoon, guests enjoyed their getaway to the full as they availed of spa treatments and answered the lure of the ocean by engaging in water activities like snorkeling. The getaway evening kicked off with cocktails at the resort’s main restaurant poolside where everyone enjoyed the most spectacular view of the sunset as they were entertained by the Moriones, a local group of cultural performers for which Marinduque is famous. Sunset cocktails were then followed by a Sultry Savannah-themed dinner where guests appreciated the first installment of the launch - Avon Fashions’ Summer 2009 collection for Jewelry and Accessories.

After dinner, guests were led to yet another poolside for the final portion of the launch, a fashion show featuring the Intimate Apparel Summer Collections. The fashion show, featuring the country’s top models, was bannered by six fashion stories: French Riviera, Burst of Sunshine, Sultry Savannah, Coast, Spring Paradise and Green with Envy.

The evening was capped with a party by the sea as guests continued to take great pleasure from their getaway. Just when they thought that the series of surprises had ended, media guests received another treat from Avon Fashions when they returned to their rooms – a bagful of Avon Fashions products so they too can bring the heat up this summer with the brand’s stylish fashion pieces.
The event was remembered by the media guests as a day when they were all swept away by the sun, the sea and, most of all, by Avon Fashions’ summer collection. The swept away experience gained impressive publicity pickups from the country’s top newspapers and TV network.
