I recently attended a luncheon hosted by The Legend Villas to introduce their new dishes. I couldn’t help but admire the classic style of the hotel’s young (daughter of) owner and executive Ginger King Villavicencio. It was a bright, sunny day in Manila and Ms. Villavicencio was all made up without being overdressed for our afternoon by the pool. The occasion certainly didn’t call for “underdressed” as facing us in a sexy halter top would have been unbecoming too.
Ginger channels my favorite style icons Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn in the following ensemble: fitted jacket by local clothes retailer K & Company, blue undershirt, white slim pants, an authentic Cartier watch and a knotted Chanel pearl necklace.
Thumbs up! Angela See of Popits Rockwell
In my previous post, I intimated how animal prints are back in fashion. I was certainly glad to see it exemplified by Angela See, the very young owner of the newly-opened chic accessories store, Popits in Rockwell Power Plant Mall.
Okay, Angela isn’t wearing any of her Popits in this picture but I simply loved her tiger print jacket worn over a black top. She says both were purchased from Undernourished Manila and Mimi fashion labels found in Rockwell’s Archeology section. Angela finishes her stylish ensemble with a brown leather belt, denim mini skirt and Longchamp Le Pliage bag. She didn’t choose to wear any necklace which is just right since the attention-getting tiger prints provide the right accent already. When you are wearing something like this, it would be a sin to “over-accessorize.” Filipina model Bianca Valerio
Seen at a recent event launching the Samsung Galaxy S was Bianca Valerio who is not only a model but is also a capable host (she emceed the launch).
Bianca looked gorgeous in a sexy sheer gown made by designer Pablo Cabahug. Bianca is all raves for Pablo because of his excellent draping skills. I have to admit this is the first time I’ve heard of this designer , but he must be gaining prominence in the fashion circle. Fashion file: Cristalle Henares
I’ve been busy!
During the launch of Artistry Foundation which starred premier make-up artist Victor Ortega and celebrity designer Francis Libiran, I spotted Cristalle Henares in the audience. The heiress of the popular Belo clinics was wearing a nice sky blue cocktail dress by Rajo Laurel and a posh Chanel bag. Cristalle was actually multi-tasking in her little dress: she was off to a friend’s wedding next!
But methinks her best accessory that evening was her steady boyfriend Moussa Abdayam, a Lebanese who works as a stylist at Mphosis salon. Having a stylist for a boyfriend is prolly a huge advantage for Cristalle. This can only mean that she will never go wrong in the style department
