Reese Witherspoon Introduces Three New Avon Fragrances

Reese Witherspoon is a woman of many moods — at least, when it comes to her fragrance choices. The bride-to-be is expanding her partnership with Avon to introduce “Expressions,” a line of three perfumes designed to play up varying moods and emotions. The first scent, Love to the Fullest, will be released in April, and channels a sensual, sexy vibe with shimmering top notes of succulent black cherry, plush peony and amber and woods. Laugh Often, coming in May, is composed of citrus and floral notes to portray a more playful side. And Live Without Regrets, due in August, is a blend of lush petals and juicy fruit notes meant as “a celebration of joie de vivre,” according to a release. Witherspoon, who launched her first Avon scent in 2009, says the perfumes are an extension of her being. “Wearing fragrance is one way I express my personality,” she said in a statement. “No matter what my mood, ‘Expressions’ lets me convey my joy, confidence or sensuality — whatever I feel that day.”

Hollywood Stars Love Mall Favorite Express

Photo credit: Pacific Coast News and Getty Images
Spring is here and Hollywood stars are stripping their layers in favor of something a bit more fun. But instead of heading to Rodeo Drive for their choice of slick threads, we’ve spotted several celebs hitting the high street—or rather, the mall. Guess who’s been shopping at Express?!
Malin Ackerman and January Jones were both sighted in pieces they picked up at the local mall. Malin hit the Hollywood club scene in a trim black blazer from Express. She paired it with a slouchy tank, bright blue jeans and pumps. January, meanwhile, shielded her pretty face from the sun with a wide-brim Express hat at a high-profile tennis match.
Panama hat, $34.90; 1-Button boyfriend blazer, $88. Both from Express.
Time to head to Express…All the stylish stars are doing it!
To pick up these pieces and more, head to an Express store near you or shop at Express.com.

Ricky Martin Gets A Custom Armani World Tour Wardrobe

After creating the inventive costumes for Lady Gaga‘s Monster Ball last year, Giorgio Armani is back on the concert beat, designing looks for Ricky Martin’s upcoming Musica + Alma + Sexo world tour. “Ricky personifies today’s modern man,” says the designer, who dressed the singer for two previous world tours. “I am thrilled to be working with him again.” As far as Martin is concerned, he is happy to reprise the role of muse. “I have always loved Giorgio Armani’s designs,” he gushes. “The looks he has created for my new tour are uniquely creative … he will help bring Musica + Alma + Sexo alive.” While the tour is expected to incorporate themes including 1980s punk, 1920s jazz and Afro-Brazilian elements, the proposed looks smack of refined Ricky — a testament to how well the designer knows his pal. After all, Armani boasts, “Our long-standing friendship has now spanned well over a decade.” The Musica + Alma + Sexo tour comes stateside on April 8.

Katy Perry Is An “E.T.”

We’ve always loved Katy Perry’s willingness to take her look to the extreme but her most recent beauty transformation is seriously out of this world. The singer posted photos to her Facebook page Wednesday that flaunt the alien-esque makeup she’s wearing in the video for her latest single, “E.T.” The slow-burning song, which features Kanye West, has lyrics like, “Boy you’re an alien,” and “Lead me into the light,” so it makes sense her look is, well, extraterrestrial: Perry has an ethereal pink glow, and sports dramatically dark lips and piercing turquoise contacts, plus a series of bright braids. The singer also linked to a YouTube page, where curious alien wannabes can learn to imitate the look. The “E.T.” video premieres Thursday, March 31. Tell us: What do you think of Perry’s intergalactic look?

Waxing Tips from Skyy Hadley

Spring is officially here and that means it’s almost time to break out those shorts and skirts and even bathing suits! Beauty expert Skyy Hadley, shares her tips on ways to get silky smooth skin before, during and after you get a wax.
Herve Leger cutout bandage swimsuit, $1050
Before wax
  • Exfoliate the area to be waxed with an exfoliating scrub such as the True Blue Spa Invigorating Spa Scrub
  • Make sure hair is at least ¼ inch long before you wax
  • I suggest taking an aspirin or drinking a glass of wine an hour before your appointment or at home wax to minimize the pain
During Wax- if you choose to wax at home
  • Make sure the area is clean and dry
  • Sprinkle some baby powder onto the area to be waxed
  • Apply a thin layer of wax in the direction of hair growth
  • Pull wax strips off in the opposite direction of hair growth
  • Use one hand to pull the wax and use the other to stretch skin to help minimize pain
  • Remember to wax small areas at a time
  • My favorite at home wax kit is the Bliss Poetic Waxing Kit
After wax
  • Apply an aloe lotion or gel onto the treated area to soothe the skin
  • If desired, apply an ingrown hair protector gel after waxing the bikini area
  • Wear loose cotton pants or a skirt to let the treated area breathe
Myth: Shaving causes hair to grow in thicker and waxing causes hair to grow back lighter. In reality, it really only appears this way because when you shave, hair grows in all at the same time where with waxing the hair grows in at different times.

Spring Trend Spotlight: Tribal Print

Michele Obama in Tracy Reese. Photo credit: Jim Watson
Yesterday we spotlighted Michelle Obama in her tribal print Tracy Reese dress. We loved the look so much that we decided to spotlight this effortless spring trend.
Tribal prints and influences are all the rage right now – witness the new collaboration betweenAldo and Julian Louie that boasts vibrant ikat prints on sky high wedges. From shoes, to dresses, to accessories and beyond- designers are all over the ethnic look and we couldn’t love it more!
We’re sure we’ll be seeing much more tribal print in the weeks and months ahead so why not get a headstart on the trend and get a statement piece of your own?
Just remember to incorporate the trend into your spring wardrobe sparingly – when it comes to prints it’s very easy to go overboard. Think couture not costume!
